What is a Quiet Acoustic Panel?

Quiet Acoustic panels consist of a paper or aluminium honeycomb core sandwiched between two skins of thin aluminium or steel to produce one of the lightest and stiffest building and construction materials today. One or both skins have thousands of sub-milimeter perforations, almost invisible to the eye, yet they allow a finite mass of air to enter into the honeycomb cell. The combination of the introduced mass of air, and the existing "cushion" of air in the cell, acts like a mass on a spring, creating its own pressure wave, which is emitted out of phase to cancel noise contacting the panel.
Change the panel core thickness to change the frequency band of absorption
Most equipment and plant will emit noise in specific tonal or semi-broad band frequencies, and once you know this, you know what panel thickness is optimal for your applicaiton. Quiet Acoustics can manufacture panels in infinitely variable thicknesses. Full test reports and data sheets can be found here.

Noise control panels that block noise AND absorb noise.
Quiet Acoustic panels can be used to block noise (sound transmission class - STC) and absorb noise (absorbtion coefficients - alpha) at the same time. This is an important point. You can easily build a space with a STC rating of 30 (will block on average 30 decibels) but if the material is reflective or poor at absorbing, it will amplify the noise within the space, often by 9-15 decibels. Quiet Acoustic panels remove this amplification, further improving the total sound transmission loss. This also make a space far more comfortable to work in.

So much more than just an acoustic panel
Quiet Acoustic panels weigh around 5kg per sqm meter, hold over 350kg of bending load, deflect less than 5mm, and absorb and contain cyclonic impacts. They will not burn, corrode, rot, decompose, or lose performance with dust and moisture. This makes them the most versatile, durable and go anywhere structural acoustic panel on earth.
The panels are 100% fibre free and are particularly good at removing low frequency noise, common most power plant and HVAC. Low frequency noise is felt in the body and the brain, and causes raised blood pressure, anxiety, stress, sleep deprivation, and significant drops in concentration and memory retention, with long lingering effects after exposure. It is a serious occupational health and safety hazard.
